12 Angry Men
1957 movie. The defense and the prosecution have rested and the jury is filing into the jury room to decide if a young Spanish-American is guilty or innocent of murdering his father. What begins as an open and shut case soon becomes a mini-drama of each of the jurors' prejudices and preconceptions about the trial, the accused, and each other.
CineVault Editorial context
Why it may be worth your time: A single-room drama made dynamic by shifting alliances, precise dialogue and the pressure of making a consequential decision with incomplete certainty.
Best for: Viewers who value sharp writing and want something substantial without committing to a long runtime.
Consider skipping if: You need visual spectacle, location changes or action-driven momentum.
Viewing context: A strong choice for discussion afterwards because the tension comes from reasoning, bias and group behaviour.
